Taking an online course offers the luxury of accessing the classroom when it is
convenient and you feel most energized. The challenge is to discipline yourself so that you do not lose momentum and fall behind. We really want you to succeed in completing this course on time. These weekly tips are designed to support you in to this end.
Tip #1
1. Use the instructional videos to learn how to navigate the site for important content, such as assignments. A couple of them were just updated again today. They are located on the Classroom Main page in the Instructor information section.
2. You can expect to put in about three to six hours per week into this course if you complete the assigned reading, lecture, and assignment one week at a time.
3. To do well in the online course, you need to be organized and committed. Schedule a day and time you will use to stay organized for the class. This may take only about ten minutes or so for some of you and perhaps up to an hour for others.
4. Don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and contact the instructor or send an email. Many times a single phone call will save time and effort compared to back and forth email. The instructor is available via phone Monday-Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Time. You can send an email during the weekend, but it may not be answered until Monday.
